A perspective from Meg Ikeda regarding the far reaching global benefits from the Schenker/BAX merger now available to Japanese customers.
BAX Global's integration with Schenker has brought two new major logistics benefits to our Japanese customers in a country that has been traditionally dominated by its own freight forwarders. These two benefits are transportation of goods to the world through Schenker's 130-year expertise in global ocean shipping, and distribution of goods throughout Europe utilizing Schenker's position as #1 in European land transport. Now add to this BAX Japan's existing licensed customs brokerage service and BAX Global's North American distribution network, and the range of global supply chain solutions which we have been providing our Japanese customers for some time has been greatly enhanced. However, this is not where our combined expertise stops.
Today, Schenker and BAX offer a variety of transportation and logistics solutions to meet all of our customers' supply chain requirements to and from Japan, whether it's a Japan-based company trading worldwide, or a global organization in another country that wants to utilize the Japan trade lane. With Schenker and BAX combined, we now have eight Japanese speaking Route/Business Development Managers and Sales Coordinators throughout North America and Canada servicing Japanese trade lane businesses. To cater to those who deal with the rapidly growing market in China, Schenker/BAX has Japanese representatives in Singapore, Shanghai and Hong Kong.
Aside from BAX Global's wide array of value-added services, Schenker customers can now enjoy the benefits of in-house customs clearance for export shipments out of Japan; and for U.S. import shipments, domestic on-forwarding and local delivery by BAX's own North American network. Likewise, BAX customers can utilize Schenker's expertise in logistics and fully-equipped ocean services. Customers in Japan are also happy to know that their shipments are in good hands with Schenker's extensive distribution network within Japan, thanks to their affiliate, Seino Transportation, who has been named the leader in LTL transport within Japan since 1930. Our specialized services, all managed solely by Schenker/BAX, are part of a total, customized integrated logistics solution that can maximize efficiencies along our customers' supply chains from end-to-end. Whether goods are imported into Europe or the U.S., they become part of the Schenker/BAX distribution network that offers a variety of guaranteed, time-definite and cost effective options for door-to-door delivery of any size or weight freight throughout Europe and North America.
Whether you're a Japanese company that operates around the globe, or a global company based offshore that wants to take advantage of the Japan trade lane, the combined strength of Schenker and BAX Global today is offering the kind of integrated solutions no other logistics provider can. Let the power of Schenker and BAX Global maximize your competitive advantage wherever it's required worldwide.
